Dr. David Blusztein
Dr. David Blusztein is an interventional cardiologist with an expertise in management of valvular heart disease, coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction. He also has a special interest in the management of adult congenital heart disease. He has completed prestigious overseas fellowships in Structural Heart Disease at Columbia University Medical Center in New York (2021-2023) and the University of California, San Francisco (2020-2021), where he also trained in Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD). Prior to these, Dr. Blusztein completed a two-year interventional cardiology fellowship at the Royal Melbourne Hospital (2018-2020).
He has vast experience in performing coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve interventions (including Mitraclip/Triclip), PFO closures, ASD closures and LAA occlusion. He also has experience in ACHD interventions including transcatheter pulmonary valve replacements. Dr. Blusztein is passionate about a minimally-invasive approach to his cardiac interventions where possible.
Dr. Blusztein has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals. He is an invited speaker at Cardiovascular Research Foundation’s Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) and Transcatheter Valve Therapies (TVT) conferences and has presented at many international cardiology conferences. He is currently working at Monash Health/Victorian Heart Hospital as well as Cabrini Hospital.
